Smart LED Test Tweezers are an LED and small component tester available from Siborg Systems Inc. It is designed primarily for testing through-hole and surface-mount LEDs but it also does continuity testing. When connected to any digital multimeter via included conventional test leads it can easily be used for any other testing, voltage, capacitance, inductance and resistance measurements. The Smart LED Test Tweezers have sharp phosphor bronze gold-plated tweezers that can grasp small components on a PCB. They are able to test LEDs, fuses, shorts, switches, wires and PCB circuitry.
With a special connector cable, the Smart LED Test Tweezers can also be used as probes for SMT testing; just connect the Smart LED Test Tweezers to an LCR-meter and the device will act as an LCR Tweezer Meter.
LEDs are tested using a 12VDC output, with adjustable current ratings of 20 mA, 10 mA, 5 mA. The polarity of the LED can be determined using the tweezers arms which are colour coded, using red for the anode (+)and grey (-)for the cathode.
The LED Test Tweezers are best suited for field personnel, engineers and professionals. The device only weighs 50 grams and is 15 cm long; it is easily carried undetected in a bag.
The device comes with a travel bag, LCR-meter connector cable, tweezer cap, and the 12V 23AE battery installed.
