Siborg Systems Inc. debuted the new LCR-Reader at Nepcon Shanghai Trade show with excited feedback from current users and new customers.
The new LCR-Reader offers users the same functionality as the Smart Tweezers line of LCR-meter but has half the weight and size of previous models without limiting the high accuracy measurements.
The Nepcon Shanghai Trde Show is the largest electronics manufacturing show in China with an estimated 20,000 visitors and hundreds of exhibitors, including leaders in Surface Mount Technology; Fuji Machine Manufacturing, Sony, Hitachi, Panasonic, Heller and OK International.
LCR-Reader was presented by Asian-distributors of the device AscenTek, China, and AscenTex, Taiwan, and Siborg Systems Inc. Jason Yeh, the GoldTek Sales Manager said, “It is very important to be able to reduce the price of LCR-Reader compared to the Smart Tweezers LCR-meter. We hope to double our sales wth the introduction of the new affordable model.”
The new device offers a basic accuracy of 1%, the same accuracy available on previous ST-2 and ST-3 models. The first to debut the new design, LCR-Reader features a 1 oz. weight and a slimmer build with a bright OLED display and a new one button navigation. With a press of the button, the device changes the measurement mode from the default ‘Automatic Mode’ to ‘Inductance’, ‘Resistance’ or ‘Capacitance’. All measurement and secondary values, as well as the component type and test parameters are automatically displayed on the device. Powered by a Li-Ion battery and rechargeable via micro-USB, LCR-Reader is perfect for travel or working in the field.
Retailing less than $200 USD, the LCR-Reader’s lower price was made possible by a cheaper manufacturing cost to the benefit of the consumers. To lower cost, features such as offset subtraction, voltage measurements, component sorting with variable tolerances and continuity and diode testing were omitted.
Siborg is releasing the LCR-Reader in July/August 2013, with sales expected to be four times that of the previous ST-5 model.
