The title says it all. LCR-Reader is a handheld LCR- and ESR-meter that tests components with just a touch. The LCR-Reader requires no set-up for measurements; the device will automatically select the component type, test mode, frequency and signal. Not only will it show the main impedance component as L, C or R, but also any secondary values, such as R for L, C and C for R.
Save Time Identifying Components
No-set up required between measurements
Since many components are unlabeled or too small to have legible labels, losing track of components and their values is easy. LCR-Reader will automatically determine the type of component and best test parameters to use with virtually no-set up between measurements. Just grasp a component, mounted or lose, between the tweezers’ tips and the device will do the rest.
High Accuracy Measurements
0.5% Basic Accuracy
LCR-Reader tests all components using a 0.5% basic accuracy. This accuracy is higher than Smart Tweezers ST-1, ST-2 and ST-3.
It was previously believed that the accuracy of the device was 1%. This was proven wrong by Navair Technologies when Siborg sent 4 randomly selected devices for certification. Navair’s testing placed the accuracy closer to 0.1%.
Lightweight Design
Easy-to-use
LCR-Reader’s design, based on Smart Tweezers, combines a lightweight multimeter with gold-plated tweezer probes. The 1 oz. device is ergonomically designed to limit hand-fatigue, and is small enough to be undetected in a bag or pocket. The Li-Ion battery has a 60 hour continuous-use and is micro-USB rechargeable. All measurement values are displayed on a built-in OLED display that is easy to read, even in dimly-lit environments.
Bright Display
Easy-to-read OLED display
LCR-Reader’s OLED display instantly displays all measurement values; including: main and secondary impedance values, test mode, component type, test frequency used and battery level indicator.
The high-contrast display makes it easy to read in even less-than-desirable lighting conditions.
Affordable
Lower-priced alternative to Smart Tweezers devices.
Siborg created LCR-Reader as a more affordable alternative for non-professionals looking for a Smart Tweezers-like device. The price point, roughly half of Smart Tweezers, is possible by removing features like the offset capacitance, variable signal, diode testing, etc. the lower price was easily achievable.
Traceable Calibration
NIST Traceable Calibration Certificates
Siborg chose 4 randomly selected LCR-Readers and sent them to Toronto’s Navair Technologies along with a new calibration fixture. Navair’s results showed LCR-Reader’s basic accuracy closer to 0.5% than the previously believed 1%. The calibration fixture was also certified allowing Siborg to create NIST traceable calibration certificates for all devices.
